I’m a Nebraska Cornhusker who loves GO BIG RED football even with my Mechanical Engineering Degree from Iowa State and MBA from Kansas University. I married my high school sweetheart and have the two greatest kids on earth and one in Heaven. I’m happiest in the great outdoors hunting with our two black labs or traveling with family. I equate business to coaching a football team. My favorite sayings are Head West!, Where's the Puck? and It's only Creative if it Sells. My team is also familiar with other ‘Steve’isms’ such as Since Hector was a Pup and Monkey Butts. I am blessed with a great team and customers who challenge us to be the best. Thank you for your support and making AccuQuilt the best! Heading West!

Favorite Quilt Block – Take 5
I’m a quilter, a quilt historian, and I love my career in this industry. Quilts are much like my job: full of color with different patterns and made of layers. I love to travel as GO!bal Sales Manager. This is my dream job as it involves both travel and quilting. I could not ask for a better job then what I have. In addition, this job is the best because of our customers and team members I get to interact with routinely. Quilting has been a family passion for at least five generations. I am hoping one of my two wonderful nieces will pick up the family quilting tradition.

Favorite Quilt Block – Delectable Mountain
I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Morse Bluff, Neb., (pop. 128) where there was never a shortage of milk, cows or company (8 siblings). On a whim at 18, I moved to New York to be a nanny. I ended up spending 10 years on the east coast where I received a BFA in graphic design from the State University of New York at Purchase and started my career in a field that I absolutely love. At AccuQuilt, I’m the Marketing Director but I am also known as the ‘Master of All Creative’. I literally eat, sleep and breathe GO! green. When not at work, I’ve been known to design children’s books, partake in local art projects and of course, I quilt too!

Favorite Quilt Block - Rising Star
I moved to Omaha in 1987 and met the love of my life. We had two children – a daughter (now 18) and a son (now 15). I worked in the retail industry at Pamida for 26 years as Store Manager, Sales Promotion Manager, Department Buyer and Category Manager throughout those years. I buy everything that AccuQuilt needs to run our business. I’m known for attention to detail, but as my Zookeeper title implies, I keep the “animals” under control. I love to spend time with my family – usually at one of the kids’ sporting events and of course, quilting.

I served six years in the Army as a Combat Medic along with one tour in Afghanistan. I joined the AccuQuilt team in May of 2012 and have put together a world class team that strives to be the best to get our customers their orders as fast as possible. My wife and I have been together for five years, and we have our first little one on the way. I am looking forward to completing my first quilt before the baby gets here.

I bring 7 years of experience in e-commerce, marketing, IT and general “rolling with the punches” skills from my previous career in the technology industry. My role includes implementing innovative e-commerce technology and strategies, executing website promotions, managing daily website maintenance and fixing whatever website function that Mr. Nabity breaks. Thus, I’m commonly referred to as “Mr. Fixit” and I bring my tool-belt to every meeting.

I have a passion for graphic design and love using my artistic ability to help quilters understand our products at a deeper level. I worked for AccuQuilt several years ago and came back knowing I loved to work with quilters. I value all types of creative art including quilting and would love to open my own gallery when I retire. It will feature all the fine art I have collected over my lifetime.

Favorite Quilt Block – Double-Sawtooth Star
I have been passionately making quilts for over 20 years. I purchased a long arm machine because I wouldn’t let anyone else work on my quilts. I’ve been amazed at how accurately and quickly my quilts go together with AccuQuilt products. I look forward to the day when I can sit with my grandbabies and teach them to make quilts.

I’ve been with AccuQuilt since 2008 when I relocated from South Dakota. I have always loved sewing. I was fortunate to have a home economics teacher who introduced me to quilting when our class was asked to make quilts for our school’s chapel. I am also the proud parent of two wonderful children.

I’ve been working at AccuQuilt for one year now. I had never quilted before but can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoy it now. Favorite Quilt Block - Star
Once upon a time, back in 2008, AccuQuilt branched from its parent company AccuCut to cater exclusively to quilters. They wished to create a company culture that truly reflected the diversity of quilting.
AccuQuilt employees were a part of this creative movement. Many were seasoned quilters and if not already bitten by the quilting bug, they soon would be, as employees were asked to quilt for two hours each week.
AccuQuilt recently moved into a new castle in Omaha, Nebraska (though some merely described it as an extraordinary workplace). It was a quilter's dream come true with a museum-quality gallery of rotating fabric arts exhibits and a state-of-the-art quilting studio.
They wanted to share their quilting knowledge through educational resources, quilting events and social media so AccuQuilt hosted Barn Quilt Contests and Let's GO! Quilting Retreats. They thought it was the perfect way to mix business with pleasure and the quilters around the world who submitted designs and flocked to the retreats agreed.
And the AccuQuilt employees were happy. They felt as though the company was a family, a tight-knit group of quilting enthusiasts who loved what they did and took great pride in helping others create fabric masterpieces.
But that isn't the end of the AccuQuilt tale.
AccuQuilt continues to spread the joy of quilting by offering friendly and knowledgeable customer service, educational opportunities, facility tours, events and a line of quilting products that help customers make truly magical creations. As long as there are quilters, there is never an end to the story.
AccuQuilt - Quilting happily ever after.
